With S / 4HANA in the digital future: status, goals and trends for the introduction of S/4HANA in German-speaking countries

Lünendonk-Study 2019

How far are large companies and corporations in the DACH region when switching to SAP's new ERP product S/4HANA? What is the roadmap for switching to S/4HANA? Do companies prefer the provision of SAP S/4HANA in the on-premise model or do they go to the cloud? Do you take the chance to free yourself from contaminated sites with a greenfield approach or do you continue to trust your proven structures and processes and prefer the brownfield approach?

Lünendonk examined these and other questions in the current study "With S/4HANA into the digital future" and analyzed the answers of 153 large and medium-sized user companies. The study was developed in collaboration with DATAGROUP, KPMG, msg systems, Rödl & Partner and SALT Solutions.

Further contents of the study:
Involved people and functions in operational and strategic planning
Budgets for the ERP changeover
Expected potential and obstacles due to the switch to S/4HANA
Requirements for IT service providers
Effects of the changeover on the process landscape and license metrics

Methodology:
For the study "With S/4HANA into the digital future: status, goals and trends for the introduction of S/4HANA in the German-speaking region", Lünendonk surveyed 153 large and medium-sized user companies from various industries in the DACH region from July to September 2019 . The interviews were conducted by telephone and in person. Over half of the participating companies generated sales of at least € 1 billion in 2018. Just under three quarters of the people interviewed were CIOs / IT managers or CTOs.
